🍎✨ 3rd Grade Teacher Spotlight! ✨🍎 Meet our amazing 3rd grade dream team! 👇 🎃 Mrs. Berenson — Born on Halloween (nickname: Candy 🍬) with a maiden name of Batt! She’s lived in 3 states and 1 country as an Air Force spouse and brings big adventure energy to her classroom. 🍪📚 Mrs. Gallegos — Loves chocolate chip cookies, Wonka, dog walks, and audiobooks! She’s a proud mom of 3 and grandma to 4 grandbabies (all under 2!) 💕 🌊🍕 Mrs. Fluckiger — A whitewater rafting fan, animal lover, reads 2–3 books a week, and believes pizza is the perfect food (same!). 🕵️‍♂️✨ Zero to Hero: The Case of the Missing Zero! ✨🕵️‍♀️ Something mysterious happened on the 100th Day of School… our zero went missing! 😱 But our amazing students jumped into action, searching for clues all around the school to solve the case and track down the missing zero. The excitement was building all day as teamwork, problem-solving, and detective skills were put to the test! And just when all hope seemed lost… 🎉 the missing zero was FOUND! With cheers, smiles, and lots of celebration, we finally completed our 100 — complete with the missing cookies! 🍪💯 What a fun-filled day of learning, mystery, and Zero-to-Hero magic! @laytonelementary @davisschooldistrict

🦉Mrs. Beckstrand’s 2nd Grade Deep Class had a hoot of a day! 🦉 It was owl pellet day, which means lots of “EWW!”, “COOL!”, and “LOOK AT THIS!” all around. Tiny treasures, curious kiddos, and hands that definitely needed a good wash after 😅 This activity is a year-to-year favorite for a reason—equal parts gross and awesome! 🌟📚 Meet Our 6th Grade Teachers! 📚🌟 📖 Mrs. Vadnais loves reading, exercising, gaming, and playing with her two dogs—both named Copper! She’s a math fan, enjoys Coke Zero & gummy candy, and grew up in Germany. ☀️ Mrs. Barnes loves swimming, pink, sunshine, and all things fun! She’s a math lover, enjoys Diet Coke & red licorice, and spent 2 weeks in Africa—an experience she says was unforgettable 🌍. 🎶 Miss Knavel loves singing, dancing, baking, BYU football, and her dog Cali! She’s training for a Spartan race 💪, drinks lots of water, and can’t resist chocolate chip cookies 🍪. 💛✨ Meet Mrs. Dean, Mrs. Lowry & Miss Kilmer! ✨💛 ✈️💙 Mrs. Dean married her high school sweetheart, was an Air Force wife for 22 years, and is a mom and grandma of two. She loves to travel, hike, and ski, and has taught 1st grade for 19 years, including 10 at Layton Elementary. 👵 Mrs. Lowry is a proud grandma to 14 grandkids, loves cheering them on 📣, hosts fun Grandma Pizza Parties 🍕, and enjoys curling up with a good book 📚. ☀️🏈 Miss Kilmer loves watching sports, soaking up the sunshine and warm weather 🌞, and spending time with—and spoiling—her nieces and nephews 💕. 🎄🍬 And the Gingerbread Glory Goes To… 🍬🎄 Our halls were filled with sugar, spice, and serious creativity during our Gingerbread House Contest—and WOW did our teams deliver! 🥉 Third Place: A huge shoutout to our amazing kitchen staff for their bold and brilliant K-pop Demon Hunters house—creative, fierce, and totally unforgettable! 🥈 Second Place: The SIPPS crew brewed up some magic with their Wicked-inspired house—sweet, spellbinding, and wickedly good! 🥇 First Place: Taking the top spot, our office staff charmed us all with their cozy mountain cottage—warm, festive, and straight out of a Christmas card! 🎉✨ We even had special guests come announce the winners, making the moment extra magical! They showed up with arms full of presents, cozy hats, and warm gloves for every single Layton Elementary kindergarten student — and the smiles were absolutely priceless! 🎄🎅✨ Santa Got a STEM Upgrade! ✨🎅🎄 Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Gallegos’ STEM superstars turned creativity into Christmas magic by making light-up Santa cards for their loved ones! 💡❤️ Using copper wire, a battery, and an LED light, students brought Santa to life—literally! Lots of thinking, tinkering, and festive fun went into these glowing creations, and the results were bright in every way ✨🎄. 🎄✨ Christmas Magic in the Halls! ✨🎄 Our school was filled with holiday cheer as the 6th grade orchestra played Christmas music through the halls! 🎻🎶 Their hard work, dedication, and incredible talent were on full display as festive tunes floated from classroom to classroom.
