Woods Cross Elementary

Welcome to another fun filled week of school. Today we will have our lockdown drill at 3:00 pm. Please check your email for an attached a letter that explains about lockdowns.

This week academic club will only be held on Monday and Tuesday. This club is now fully enrolled, but you can still get your child on a waiting list. The academic club is seeking to hire a few more tutors. Any adult or high school student are eligible. You can work one day per week or several. Contact the office if interested.

We have made great strides to improve our attendance. Two years ago, 29% of our students were chronically absent (missing more than 10% of school days). Last year we dropped to 14% or our students being chronically absent. Our goal is to continue to decrease this percentage each year. Our goal this year is 9%. Every week or so I will share our weekly attendance data. Here is how we did last week:

Our wonderful PTA reminds you of two things: 1) The Book Fair next week, and 2) the Reflections contest. (see attachments for both events). They could use a few more volunteers to help during the book fair.
