Welcome Principal Barlow, Julie Barlow, Woods Cross Wolverines

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Julie Barlow as the new principal of Woods Cross Elementary! With a deep passion for education and a strong commitment to building inclusive, student-centered environments, Ms. Barlow brings both experience and heart to our Wolverine community.

Her leadership philosophy centers around connection, collaboration, and belonging. This year’s theme, “Be here. Be you. Belong. We’re all in at Woods Cross Elementary,” reflects her dedication to creating a school culture where every student and staff member feels seen, valued, and empowered.  This is her 33rd year in education; she has been an English teacher at Green River High School and Layton High School.  She loved teaching students to think and write and enjoyed many years advising the yearbook.

Ms. Barlow is known for her positive energy, her love of great work teams, and her signature catchphrase, “Wait, what?”—which perfectly captures her curious and thoughtful approach to leadership. She focuses on listening to others carefully before she speaks. She’s also a proud proponent of school spirit!

As she steps into this new role, Ms. Barlow is excited to partner with families, staff, and the wider community to ensure Woods Cross Elementary continues to be a place where learning is joyful, relationships are strong, and every Wolverine thrives.

Please join us in giving her a warm welcome!
